Simple Steps to follow to update address in your Aadhaar without any documentary proof:
Step 1 – Go to the UIDAI website - uidai.gov.in - under 'My Aadhaar' menu tap request for 'Address Validation Letter'.
Step 2 - You will be redirected to a new page - 'Request for Address Validation Letter'. Here enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number / 16-digit Virtual ID. Also enter the given captcha. Then click 'Send OTP'.
Step 3 – Now write your 6-digit or 8-digit OTP sent to your registered number & click on 'Login'.
Step 4 – Then provide the 'Verifier Details' and 'Address Verifier Aadhaar number.'
Step 5 - Verifier will get a SMS with link on his or her registered mobile number to give consent for the update. Then verifier clicks on the link & gets second SMS with OTP for verification. Fill in the OTP, captcha & verify it.
Step 6 - After verification, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) through SMS. So log in with the 'SRN', preview address, edit local language (if needed) and click on 'Submit'.
Step 7 - You will receive a letter. 'Address Validation Letter' with 'Secret Code' will be sent to verifier's address through post.
Step 8 – Last step is to re-visit 'SSUP' (UIDAI) website & click on the link that reads ‘Proceed to Update Address'. After that, log in with Aadhaar, choose option to 'Update Address via Secret Code' and enter 'Secret Code'. Review the new address & click on 'Submit'.
